• Transformation: We desire to be people of transformation who are instruments for positive change in communities.
  • Commitment to the whole person: We are committed to the whole person. We are committed to care for people in the context of their family, community and environment with a concern for their spiritual, physical, mental, social and emotional wellbeing.
  • Biblical Christian worldview: Our work is centered on the Word of God. The word of God is foundational to our relationship with God and all that we do. We seek to be obedient to biblical teaching and we evaluate our work and attitudes in its light. Christian development must reflect the sacrificial love and compassion of Christ. As Christians we want to reflect the sacrificial love, compassion and character of Christ in all we say, teach and especially in what we do, which we believe is equally spiritual.  We have compassion, for those in need. We are committed to the poor and needy. We believe that the bible makes a clear division between good and evil, right and wrong. What we do is equally spiritual as what we believe and teach. Reconciliation to God facilitates sustainable change, breaking the power of harmful traditions, setting us free for service and creating openness for further change.
  • Worship: We worship the God of the bible alone, are witnesses of Jesus Christ and ambassadors of His Kingdom.
  • Servanthood: We desire to work with an attitude of servanthood, serve and honor one another in humility. Therefore we believe in servant leadership as a life style, rather than a leadership hierarchy.
  • Integrity: We work with integrity in our dealings with others. It means that truthfulness, faithfulness in our work, trustworthiness, transparency and doing what we say is very important. We are accountable to God for the use of our time and resources. We are accountable to our partners and supporters.
  • Openness and willingness to improve: We want to have an open heart to listen to others, to discuss and change the way we are doing things, rather than only depend on structures or rules. We are willing to change in response to constructive criticism and the changing needs of those we serve. We are committed to learning from others in humility.
  • Respect: We value people as we value ourselves and treat them the way we want to get treated. We should always treat those with whom we work with love and respect without distinction as people made in God’s image. Although we work through and with Christian partners all our work is directed to those in need, regardless of their religious beliefs.
  • Equality: We value women and men equally, people from different races and backgrounds and economical status.
  • Holiness: We believe we are called to lead holy and good lives that express the character of God in all areas of society.
  • Creativity: We want to solve problems in different creative ways and not stick merely to existing procedures. We support the pioneering of new ministries within our vision. We will pursue improvement in all that we do by encouraging creativity and new ideas.
  • Partnership: We like to partner with other organizations and with churches and not stand on our own. Christian development addresses the different needs of a community. This requires cooperation within the community and linkages with groups, both those who are Christians and those who are not. Partnership involves commitment, risk, mutual learning, openness and respect.
  • Prayer: We do our work praying and interceding for others and depend on God for provision of our work, His guidance and strength. We believe we are engaged in spiritual conflict and that we are dealing with that when we commit ourselves to change lives and communities.
  • Sustainability: It simply does not only mean financial independence or that what we have will simply last long term. We see it more as an ongoing process of positive personal and community change..
  • Justice: We are committed to justice. We recognize that God requires his people to live in a way that reflects his standards of justice, which include speaking and acting on behalf of the poor and helpless.
